Seeking Advice for '01 Hyundai Dynasty Headlight Cleaning System Issues

Headlight cleaning system without function

Hey! I'm having trouble with my '01 Hyundai Dynasty, gasoline engine, run about 114,665 KM. The headlight cleaning system seems to be on the fritz. Has anyone ever had a similar issue? I'm kinda wary of mechanics after a not-so-great experience last time. Any suggestions for a trusted mechanic or DIY advice would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I experienced a similar problem with my '04 Hyundai Grandeur. Turned out, it wasn't about the headlight cleaning system at all. My issue was due to a cable break, and I felt it was quite a serious issue, since it can create issues with electrical functionality. Last time I was in the garage, they had to replace the whole cable setup because repairing a broken cable really isn't a stable or long term solution. Since it involves working with the car's electrics, a trained mechanic should handle it unless you're really confident about DIY and understand what you're doing. Remember, safety first. Luckily, cable breaks aren't everyday problems, but they do crop up. Luckily, it's usually a one-time fix. Hope that eases your concerns a bit!

Hey! Thanks for the heads up on that cable break issue. Who would've thought, right? Just out of curiosity, do you recall how much you shelled out for that whole cable replacement gig? And have you encountered any other issues since then? You know, I just want to be prepared for any other surprises this old girl might throw my way. Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, it was kinda surprising for me too. Cable breaks aren't something you think about often with car upkeep. As for the cost, I ended up paying about 155.00 €, which covered the whole cable replacement. Not exactly pocket change, but now it's working like a charm again, so it was worth it. Since leaving the mechanic, the headlight cleaning system error was sorted, thankfully. No repeats or any other issues - touch wood. It seems like it was a one-off thing. Hope your '01 Dynasty keeps running smoothly!

Wow, that's quite a tidy sum! But better an upfront cost than ongoing troubles, yeah? Glad to hear you've not had any repeat performances of the debacle. Looks like she's running smoothly for you since the fix. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, I appreciate it. Now, off to find a trusted mechanic who won't charge an arm and a leg. Wish me luck! Take care!
