Hey! Yeah, it was kinda surprising for me too. Cable breaks aren't something you think about often with car upkeep. As for the cost, I ended up paying about 155.00 €, which covered the whole cable replacement. Not exactly pocket change, but now it's working like a charm again, so it was worth it. Since leaving the mechanic, the headlight cleaning system error was sorted, thankfully. No repeats or any other issues - touch wood. It seems like it was a one-off thing.
