Hey, thanks for the reply! The last service on my Croma was at 143875km. Fault code that I've been seeing is U1600. No recent changes have been made to the vehicle. I mostly use it for daily commute. I'll definitely look into the battery issue. Might just pop over to the local shop and let them take a look. Really appreciate the help!
Hey good to hear from you! You said the fault code is U1600, eh? That's indeed related to an ignition key error code- more commonly, it's an immobilizer-related problem. Let's not overlook the incredibly intricate electrical system of our Fiat cars. You know, sometimes, it just takes one messed up thing to disturb everything else. Of course, this doesn't rule out the possibility that the issue could be specific to the electronic seats themselves, but I suspect it more likely to be relayed to an electrical problem elsewhere in the vehicle. After all, “U” codes are related to network communication errors. Sounds fancy, eh? Just to relate to my previous reply, the battery caused quite a few misleading error codes on my own Croma before I figured out the real problem. I'd say, have a mechanic check out both the battery and ignition system. I hope you'll get your Croma all sorted out cause there's nothing like having a smooth ride, isn't it? Keep us posted on how you go. Fiat brotherhood stands together! Good luck!
Absolutely! The 'U' code issue seems to be the tricky part. I guess a trip to the mechanic is really on the cards for me. I've jotted down your advice and I'll definitely make sure both the battery and the ignition system get checked. Well, you live, and you learn, aren't you? I can't thank you enough for taking the time to share all this valuable info. Will keep you all posted on the progress. Fingers crossed! Fiat brotherhood indeed! Cheers!
Hey there! I had a similar situation with my 2006 Fiat Stilo MultiWagon, so we are pretty much in the same boat. I'm no mechanic, but I've been tinkering with cars ever since I was a teen and think I have a decent understanding of how things work. In my case, the issue turned out to be a faulty battery which was causing mayhem with the electrical system. I took it to my local workshop, and they replaced the battery for around 290 Euro, quite steep, I know, but it solved the problem. Without more specifics about your car, it's hard for me to give more precise advice. Do you have any additional details about the fault codes or recent changes to your vehicle? Information like this could help me give you a more accurate suggestion.
