Hey, thanks for the info! Do you remember how much you paid to have the EGR valve cleaned and replaced? And has anything else happened to your Ateca since then? Best regards!

Hey, sure, I still remember. After I went to the garage, the "functional fault in the EGR valve" was finally fixed. The whole thing cost a total of €355, including cleaning and replacing the defective or stuck EGR valve. Since then, my Ateca has been running like clockwork again and has had no further problems. Hope this helps you! Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the information! That gives me an idea of what I can expect. I've also been to the garage in the meantime. It was actually the EGR valve. They cleaned it and finally replaced it because it was completely gone. It ended up costing me around €380. Since then, the Tarraco has been running perfectly again and the problems have disappeared. Best regards and thanks again!

Hey, yeah, that definitely sounds like a problem with the EGR valve. I had similar symptoms with my 2017 Seat Ateca. Check Engine light on, loss of power and rough engine running are typical signs. In my case, the EGR valve had to be cleaned and ultimately replaced. The garage said that this is not a rare problem with older diesel engines. So yes, it was a serious issue, but the repair solved the problem. Best regards!
