Seat Tarraco 2020: Navigation and Audio System Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Seat Tarraco owner is experiencing a malfunction with the navigation and audio systems, suspecting a connection between the two issues. Similar problems in other Seat models have been attributed to a defective cable connection between the control unit and the display. The suggested solution involves replacing the faulty cable and possibly performing a software update, though it may require significant dashboard disassembly. Despite potential costs, this fix has proven effective for others with similar issues.

Hey there! I've got a 2018 Seat Tarraco and I've experienced pretty much the same thing you're dealing with right now. It's really frustrating, so I feel for ya. Just like person Number 2 here, my issue also came down to a pesky cable connection. I can't remember it going easy on my wallet either. Do you recall roughly what this fix set you back? And have you had to deal with any other related issues since getting it resolved? I'm a bit wary of any unexpected surprises down the road. Keep us posted on how things turn out! All the best!

Hey there! So you're also in the finicky cable club, huh? Yeah, it was quite a hit on the wallet. The total damage for my little cable issue came to around a 165€. Not a fun day for my bank account, if I'm being honest. But honestly, considering the hassle it was causing me, it was worth it. And just to calm your nerves a bit, since going through that whole ordeal and having the cable connection between the control unit and the display sorted out, I haven't had any other issues with it. The audio system that was giving limited functionality before is now working like a charm again, no problems whatsoever. Hope this helps, and fingers crossed yours gets fixed without any other hassle. Be sure to keep us updated, yeah? Cheers!

Hey guys, I appreciate your candidness and all the insights. It's quite comforting knowing I'm not alone and that you guys got your issues sorted out just fine. A bit less comforting are the thoughts of my dashboard being ripped apart and of course, the costs - but hey, it is what it is. If it's a rogue cable messing with my navigation and audio, we gotta kick it out! I've got a feeling I'm just about to become the newest member of the "finicky cable club" as you coined it, and I suppose I’m not that thrilled about it. But right now, it’s all about getting things back to normal, without any drama. I’ll take the car to the mechanic next week, fingers crossed it goes as smooth as you guys experienced. I'll be sure to keep ya'll posted. Take care and cheers!

Hey, I can totally relate to your experience. I own a 2017 Seat Leon and I also had a similar problem not too long ago. It turned out to be a defective cable connection between the control unit and the display. It was quite a nasty issue, because without the navigation system, driving around town was a real pain and even the audio system started acting up, just like you described. I took it to the garage and after some tests, the problem was narrowed down to that bloody cable. They had to replace the cable, reposition it correctly, and also did some kind of software update. Because it's buried behind plastics and stuff, they had to disassemble a fair bit of the dashboard, which I wasn't too thrilled about, but it had to be done. End result: it's been working perfectly since then. What I’m trying to say is, it might not be a minor thing considering the effort necessary to replace it, but fear not, it's totally fixable. Good luck, hope it works out for you the same way. Cheers!
