Seat Leon model year 2012 - Engine does not start and warning light comes on

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Engine shuts off by itself

Car won't start

Dear community, I have a problem with my Seat Leon, model year 2012, diesel. It won't start, the engine just cuts out and the warning light is illuminated on the speedometer display. I have the feeling that it could be the water sensor. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this or have any experience of how it was fixed in the workshop? Any tips or experiences from you would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I happened to have a similar problem with my Seat Ibiza, year 2010, diesel. I am not an expert but have some experience with cars. I had to take my car to the garage and there they found that the cable connection sensor was faulty. The repair cost me 365 euros, so it was no mean feat. But since then it has been running perfectly again. Could you please tell me a bit more about your car? How many kilometers have you driven and when was the last inspection? With this information, I might be able to help you even better. Hopefully this will help you!

Hi, my car already has almost 91000 km on the clock. The last inspection? Phew, it's been a while, but certainly not that far from the problem. I really hope it won't be as expensive as in your case, but I will have the cable connections checked. Thanks for the help!

Hey, at 91000 km it can happen that certain parts no longer work properly. That's pretty normal. Water in the sensor can definitely be a trigger for your problem. In my case, unfortunately, it wasn't just the cable connection, but also the sensor itself. The diagnosis and repair were not cheap. Hopefully it's just a minor fault and nothing major. But I would still recommend that you have an inspection carried out. It's better to have it checked earlier before it causes even more problems. Let us know what comes out of it. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it won't be that expensive. And always remember: safety first! Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the advice and keeping your fingers crossed! I also think I'll take the car to the garage sooner rather than later. It's always better to be safe than sorry before it gets worse or I get stuck on the highway. I'll get back to you as soon as I know more. See you then! Thanks again!
