Hi, thanks for the quick reply! My BMW X4 is from 2017, nothing special was reported in the last service at 45323km. I haven't done anything yet as I have absolutely no idea about cars. I'll probably follow your advice and take the car to the garage. It's just cheeky that the seat heating breaks down so quickly. Hopefully it won't be too expensive... Thanks again for the help!

Hey, no problem, that's what we're here for! My X3 had the same problem after a fairly similar mileage, so I would strongly suspect the heating mat. But rest assured, this is a relatively common problem and most garages are experienced with it. Especially with BMWs, the heater mats don't seem to be the most durable... I totally understand your annoyance. In my experience the cost varied by garage, so you could do a bit of shopping around and comparing prices before making a choice. Good luck and hopefully it doesn't stay too cold in there!

Hi, thanks for your tips! That's reassuring to hear that it's a common problem and I'm glad I'm not the only one who's annoyed. I'll definitely take your advice and compare a few garages before deciding. I just hope the prices don't fluctuate too much. Thanks again for your help, without you I'd still be at a loss. And yes, I also hope it doesn't get too frosty in my car! See you next time!

Hi, got a problem with my drivers side heated seat the as I call it the ass warmer works but the back bit doesn’t, it’s only the the drivers side. The passenger side is fine.
It sounds like the heating element for the backrest on your driver's side seat might be faulty. This is a common issue in many cars with seat heaters. You can check the fuse first, but if the bottom heater is working, it's likely not a fuse issue. I would recommend taking your car to a professional to diagnose and fix the issue, as working with the seat's electrical system can be complex and requires special tools. Please let us know how it goes.
Hi, I had similar problems with my 2015 BMW X3. I'm not a car mechanic, but I do have some experience with cars. In my case, it was the seat heating mat that was defective. I had it repaired in a workshop, the cost was 390 euros. To be able to help you more precisely, I would need some more information about your car. Which model is it exactly and have you already tried to fix the problem? In general, I would recommend having it checked by professionals in a workshop. Hope that helps!
