Hey, sounds like a problem with the EGR valve. I had similar symptoms with my 2017 Seat Leon Diesel. Engine light on, loss of power and jerking at idle, just like yours. There was also a strong exhaust odor. In my case, the EGR valve was defective and partially jammed. I then went to a good garage and they replaced the valve and cleaned the system. It was a more serious matter, because it can cause a lot of other problems in the engine if you don't fix it. Since the replacement, my Leon has been running perfectly again.
