Hey, thanks for your quick reply! I had my Yaris read out and the only thing that came out was that there was a sensor error. Incidentally, my engine is a petrol engine. The error always occurs sporadically, so there are no specific situations in which it happens. As far as the mileage is concerned, I have 82425 km on it. The last service was about 6 months ago and everything was still in order. It's quite possible that it's the control unit after all... but that doesn't sound like a cheap solution. Was your car completely back to normal after that?

Hey, thanks for the info! So with my Corolla, everything was fine again after replacing the control unit. Of course, it's not a cheap pleasure, but it's better to get it right once than to keep driving with uncertainty, isn't it? I would recommend that you simply go to another garage and get a second opinion. That way you can be sure that you haven't been given the wrong advice. If it really is the control unit, then you know what to expect and can prepare yourself for it. But don't let it get you down, a fault like this is really annoying, but in the end it's just a car and something can always break. The important thing is that you feel safe and know that you've done everything you can to fix it. Good luck with that!

Hey, thanks for the advice! I guess you're right, it's better to get it right once than to ride with uncertainty all the time. I will definitely get a second opinion and see what comes out of it. But your experience has definitely helped me a lot and I already feel a little better. And you're absolutely right, at the end of the day it's just a car and things can always happen. Thanks again and have a nice day!

Hello, I have some experience, but I'm not a professional. I once had a similar problem with my 2007 Toyota Corolla, which also involved a sensor fault. However, it turned out that the control unit was faulty and not the sensor. After a visit to the garage, which cost me 1000 euros, the problem was fixed. One question, have you ever had the car read out? This could provide further details to solve your problem. Could you also provide more information about your car? For example, the exact motorization or when exactly the errors occur. The more details, the better we might be able to help you.
