Tire pressure to low

Hey guys, there's a strange problem with my Citroen C6 built in 2007 with a gasoline engine: the tire pressure indicator is constantly too low. I suspect that the tire pressure sensor may have a signal error. Do any of you have experience of similar problems and can give me some troubleshooting tips? I would be particularly interested to hear how the problem was solved in the workshop and what experiences were made. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, I had a similar experience with my 2009 Citroen C5. I have some experience, so don't worry, I'm not a professional. In my case, the control unit for the tire pressure monitoring system was broken. I went to my regular garage and they were able to find the fault quickly and replace the control unit. It cost me 355 euros. Do you happen to have the exact type and specifications of your vehicle? Maybe I can tell you a bit more about it when I have more information.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. My C6 has now done 70849 km. The last service was recently, but the problem still persists. The exact type is a little complicated as I have made some adjustments. But based on your experience, it sounds like the tire pressure control unit could be the cause. I will definitely have this checked at my garage. Thanks again!

Well, that sounds a bit better, doesn't it? No problem, I'm glad if I can help. It wasn't exactly the same model for me, but it was still a Citroen and yes, the tire pressure indicator was really annoying. So, first of all, it's great that you have a garage that trusts you and knows your car. If in doubt, I would definitely recommend just having everything checked, especially if you're not 100% sure. But as far as the control unit is concerned, it really could be the problem. It was definitely the case for me and after the replacement everything was fine again with the tire pressure. So, fingers crossed that it's that easy for you too! Feel free to keep me posted and let me know if you need more information or advice. And don't forget to tell us all here in the forum how it went - we're all learning!
