DPF regeneration failure

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Check engine light on

Hello everyone! I have a strange problem with my Ford Freestyle (built in 2005, diesel). The indicator light is on, the DPF can't regenerate and a warning light is illuminated in the speedometer. I think it might have something to do with the Ad-Blue system pressure being too low, but I'm not sure. Do any of you have experience with this and any troubleshooting tips? How did you get the problem fixed at the garage and what was your experience? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2003 Ford Fusion. I am not a car professional, but with a little experience I can say that it sounded similar to your problem. In my case, the Ad-Blue tank was defective. The garage fitted a replacement, which cost me 1620 euros. Can you perhaps provide more information to be able to help you better? For example, do the problems only occur under certain conditions, or have you carried out any maintenance work recently that could be related to this? Sometimes the smallest details can be the biggest help. I hope this helps you a little.

Hello and thank you for your help! Actually, the problems always occur, regardless of the weather or driving style. I last had an inspection done at 113761 kilometers and the problem has been there ever since. However, no major changes were made, just the usual oil change. I haven't been to the garage for this problem yet because I thought it might not be that serious. But judging by your experience, I should consider it... Thanks again!

Ah, I see. I thought of another aspect that might help you. I forgot to mention that my garage mechanic at the time said that the Seat temperature sensor and heat monitoring system were defective, which was constantly activating the tank pressure reducer. So it could be that the Ad-Blue system pressure has nothing to do with the actual problem, but the symptoms are caused by another faulty sensor. It might be a good idea to have this checked by your garage first. This can be detected with a simple diagnosis and then you will know exactly what is wrong and what you need to do. I hope this helps you! And don't worry, you'll manage. After all, cars are there to cause us problems, right? Let us know what happens next, we're here to help! Good luck!

Hello, thank you very much for the tip! That sounds plausible and fits my problem. I'll take your advice and have it checked out at the garage. It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one with car problems like this. I will definitely let you know what happens next. Thanks again for the helpful information and words of encouragement! Exactly, cars are there to give us challenges, aren't they? Have a good day and see you soon!
