Hey, thanks for the quick feedback and advice! It's really reassuring to hear that you successfully got out of the same situation. Can you perhaps remember how much you paid for it at the time? Has anything else come up since then or did the repair solve the problem completely?

Hey, no problem! Back then, it cost me around €170, which was all spent on repairing the wiring harness and the crankshaft sensor plug. It wasn't free, but since then my cruiser has been running smoothly again. The issue with the crankshaft sensor has been resolved since the visit to the mechanic and the problem has been completely solved. Nothing else has come up so far. Hope it goes just as smoothly for you, fingers crossed, dude!

Hey, thanks for the info! 170 is quite a lot, but if it solves the problem then I'm willing to pay that. Your report has really helped me to have a much clearer idea of what to expect. I'm off to the garage first thing tomorrow morning and hope it goes as smoothly as it did for you. Thanks again for the help and encouraging words, I really need it!

Hi buddy, I recently had almost the same situation with my 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser (diesel, 230000 KM run). The symptoms were similar to yours - rough engine running, poor cold starts and occasionally the engine just stalled. The culprit was actually the crankshaft sensor, or more precisely the wiring harness/connector of the crankshaft sensor was defective. The mechanic had to replace the crankshaft sensor and repair the wiring harness that led to the sensor. After the repair, my car ran like clockwork again. It was a serious matter, because without this sensor the engine cannot function correctly and engine problems can occur that require even more extensive repairs. If the crankshaft sensor is the problem for you, then my advice is to get it fixed as soon as possible. Brother, don't hang your head, it's a shame when the car goes wrong, but it can be fixed!
