Safety and lighting problems with the Citroën C3 model year 2014

Hey guys, I drive a Citroen C3 built in 2014 with a gasoline engine and just under 89,000 km on the clock. I'm currently having a few problems locking and unlocking the car and the lights are flickering a bit at times. Could this be due to a fault with the exterior door handle electronics? Has anyone had similar experiences and can share any advice or repair experience? I'm worried about my bad experience at my last mechanic visit. Thank you in advance!

Hey, I had exactly the same fault with my Citroen C4, built in 2011. It turned out to be the control unit. I had it checked at the garage and they confirmed it. The replacement part took a while, but after that everything ran like clockwork again. Don't worry, sounds like a more serious problem than it is, didn't take much effort to fix in my case. Good luck with your C3, buddy!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! That reassures me a little for now. Do you remember how expensive the repair was for you? And has anything similar happened to your Citroen since then? Best regards!

Hello, no problem, always happy to help! So, I spent about €600 on repairing the control unit. A bit expensive, I know, but since then my Citroen has been running like a charm again. And to answer your second question, since the workshop visit, everything has been running perfectly, no new fault with the outside door handle electronics or anything else. So, don't worry, don't worry too much, sometimes you just have to spend a little money. All the best with your Citroen!

Thanks for the info, that's very helpful! I will definitely have it checked. I hope my Citroen C3 will be running like a champ again after the repair. Well, like you said, sometimes you just have to spend a bit of money. Thanks again, buddy! Your experience has helped me a lot. Have a good trip with your Citroen!
