RS7 Battery Woes: Alarm Failure & Multiple Error Codes

Looking for advice on my 2022 RS7 4.0T with 53688km. My electrical system shows some concerning symptoms, the error memory is logging faults and the alarm system stopped working completely. A battery check suggests the auxiliary battery might be failing. Has anyone faced similar battery problems with their RS7? Really want to avoid another frustrating mechanic experience and would appreciate hearing about reliable shops that fixed similar electrical issues successfully.

I had similar electrical issues with my 2019 RS6. The symptoms matched closely, system logging unusual faults and car alarm malfunction. The battery check revealed a failing auxiliary battery, which was causing multiple electrical system errors. The auxiliary battery problem can turn serious if not addressed promptly, as it affects critical systems like alarm functions and various control modules. In my case, the system diagnosis showed the battery had degraded significantly, impacting voltage stability across multiple circuits. The repair required replacing both the auxiliary battery and testing the charging system to ensure proper voltage distribution. The job involved recoding several control modules to clear persistent fault codes. While this was a complex electrical issue, the fix was straightforward once properly diagnosed. The auxiliary battery typically lasts 4-5 years, and when it fails, it often creates cascading electrical issues across vehicle systems. Running a full battery check and system diagnosis is crucial before replacing parts, as similar symptoms could stem from alternator or wiring problems. Consider having this addressed soon, as continuing to drive with a failing auxiliary battery can lead to more extensive electrical system complications.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I dealt with the exact same electrical issue on my RS7 last summer. The battery alarm symptoms and unusual electrical glitches were identical. We traced it back to a failing auxiliary battery just like in your case. Did the problems completely resolve after your repair? Curious about the total cost you ended up paying. In my situation, a few additional electrical gremlins popped up a few weeks after the battery replacement, so just want to make sure you havent experienced any lingering issues.

Had my RS6 repaired last month and can confirm all electrical problems are now completely fixed. The auxiliary battery alarm system that was showing defective has been working flawlessly since the repair. They did a thorough job diagnosing and fixing the issue, which turned out to be the aging car battery causing the problems. The total repair cost was 330 Euro, which included replacing the battery and reprogramming the car alarm system. Since the fix, there have been zero electrical issues or warning messages. The car starts perfectly every time and all systems are functioning as they should. Unlike your experience, I havent seen any recurring problems or electrical gremlins. The battery signal readings have remained stable and all control modules are working correctly. If youre still experiencing issues after your repair, it might be worth having the charging system checked again, as intermittent problems could indicate other underlying electrical concerns. The key was having a complete system diagnosis done rather than just swapping the battery, this helped catch any potential secondary issues that could cause problems later.

Thanks for the feedback. After getting the initial symptoms checked, I finally took my RS7 to get fixed last week. The system diagnosis confirmed the auxiliary battery was indeed the culprit. The mechanic found the battery voltage was dropping below normal levels, triggering the car alarm and electrical system faults. They replaced the auxiliary battery and ran a full charging system test to make sure everything was working properly. Total cost came to 425 Euro including parts and labor. The car alarm now works perfectly and all those unusual electrical errors have disappeared. The repair took about 3 hours since they had to recode several modules after the battery replacement. Been driving for a week now with zero issues. No more warning lights or system faults. Really glad I got it sorted before it caused any bigger problems with the electrical system. The peace of mind was worth every cent.
