Thanks for sharing your experience with the suspension system issues. Mine got fixed last month but took longer than expected since they had to order some parts. The damping control works perfectly now and ride comfort is back to normal. Can you share what the total repair cost was in your case? Also curious if you had any other suspension-related problems come up since getting it fixed?

After getting the car damping system repaired, no other suspension issues have surfaced. The connection problems common to these electronic suspension systems were resolved completely. My total repair cost was 95 Euro, which covered fixing the faulty cable and connector assembly. The suspension tuning has been perfect since the repair. The vehicle suspension now adapts properly to different road conditions, just like when the car was new. Looking back, I was relieved it turned out to be just an electrical connection problem rather than a more serious mechanical suspension failure. A proper diagnostic check really helped identify the exact issue quickly. Sometimes these suspension problems can seem worse than they actually are when the warning lights first appear. The key is finding a shop that understands these electronic damping systems well.

Thanks for the input. Just wanted to update on my repair experience. Finally got my RS4 fixed last week after dealing with the ride comfort issues. Turns out my suspension failure was more complex than just wiring. The shop found that 2 shock absorbers were actually leaking and the electronic damping control unit was toast. The total repair came to 2100 Euro including parts and labor. The vehicle suspension feels amazing now, way better than before. No more warning lights and the ride is properly controlled over bumps. Glad I got it sorted despite the higher cost, since leaving worn shock absorbers could have caused more damage. For anyone else facing similar issues, definitely worth getting a proper diagnosis. The shop I found specializes in these electronic suspension systems and they knew exactly what to check. Much better experience than my previous mechanic who kept replacing unusual parts.

Had the same suspension failure issue with my 2016 Audi RS5. The damping control warning light appeared during highway driving. Diagnostic scan pointed to faulty wiring in the electronic suspension management system. The root cause was corroded connector pins between the shock absorber sensors and the control module. Water had seeped into the plug housing over time. The suspension tuning system needs clean connections to properly adjust damping rates. This did not require a full suspension overhaul. The fix involved: Cleaning the connector contacts, Replacing the damaged wiring harness sections, Resealing the connections with dielectric grease, Recalibrating the damping control system The car handling returned to normal after repair. While not a major mechanical issue, leaving it unfixed can lead to premature wear of shock absorbers and other suspension components. The system needs proper electrical signals to adjust suspension stiffness based on driving conditions. Worth checking the connections first before assuming worst-case scenarios with the actual shock absorbers. A proper diagnostic scan can pinpoint if its truly a sensor/wiring issue versus mechanical suspension problems.
