Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That's actually super helpful since I've been worried about potentially expensive repairs. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up paying for all that work? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the fix? I'm trying to get a rough idea of what I might be looking at cost-wise and whether it's a long-term solution.
Hey again! Happy to give you an update! After getting it fixed, my Outlander has been running perfectly smooth, no more bouncing or uneven stance issues. The door contact signal problem was completely resolved too, which was actually a pretty straightforward fix. The mechanic found a faulty cable/plug connection and sorted it out for 155€. Honestly, it was such a relief that the door signal issue wasn't anything more serious. You know how these things can sometimes spiral into bigger problems! Since the repair, I haven't had a single warning light or weird behavior from any of the doors. I should mention though, my case might be different from yours since I only needed the door contact signal fixed. If you're experiencing the same suspension issues I initially had, that might be a separate repair cost. But definitely get it checked out soon, these things tend to only get worse (and more expensive!) if you leave them too long. Let me know if you need any other info about my experience with it!
Thanks so much for all the details! I actually just got back from the mechanic today. You were right, it was similar to your situation but a bit different. Had to get the front struts replaced and they found some loose wiring in the suspension system. The whole thing set me back about €780, which included labor and parts. More than I wanted to spend, but at least it's fixed now! The car feels completely different, in a good way! No more bouncing around like a kangaroo, and it's sitting perfectly level again. The door signal issue cleared up too once they fixed the wiring harness. Turns out it was all connected, just like in your case. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it definitely helped me know what to expect and not panic about it being something super major. The mechanic I found was great too, really knew his stuff about Mitsubishis. Think I'll stick with them for future repairs. Thanks again for the help! Sometimes it's just nice to know you're not the only one dealing with these quirky car issues.
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander (gasoline). The bouncing and uneven stance sounds exactly like what I experienced last month. Turned out to be a faulty cable connection in the suspension control module, along with worn-out struts. The door contact signal problem was related, it was a loose wiring harness that wasn't properly connected to the body control module. Got it fixed at my local garage. It wasn't a major repair, but definitely not something you want to leave unattended. The bouncing can get worse and affect other components if you keep driving like that. The mechanic had to recalibrate the suspension system after fixing the connections, and replace both front struts. Just make sure whoever works on it has experience with Mitsubishi's electronic systems. These issues are pretty common in this generation of Mitsubishis. Hope this helps point you in the right direction.
