Yeah, mine's been showing similar symptoms lately at 181,576 KM. Just had my service done last month too, so this is pretty frustrating! For me, it happened pretty suddenly, was working fine one day, completely dead the next. All sensors are completely unresponsive, and I'm getting those same warning lights you mentioned. I haven't noticed any correlation with wet weather, but you might be onto something with the corroded cable connection theory. Given our Ridgelines are from the same era, it makes sense they'd have similar weak points. Might have to bite the bullet and take it to the shop. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, gives me a good starting point when talking to the mechanic. I'll definitely get them to check those connections first!
Hey again! Yeah, those sudden failures can be super frustrating, especially right after a service. After reading about your specific symptoms, I'm even more convinced it's similar to what I dealt with on my Pilot. Since you mentioned it's happening at 181,576 KM, that's actually pretty close to when mine started acting up too (was around 175,000 KM). These Honda electrical connectors tend to show their age around this mileage, from what I've learned. Quick tip from my experience, when you take it to the shop, make sure they check the entire wiring harness connected to the PDC module, not just the obvious connections. In my case, they initially only cleaned the main connector, but the problem came back after a week. Turned out there was another corroded spot further down the line that needed attention. By the way, did you notice any clicking or buzzing sound when you put it in reverse before it completely failed? Mine made some weird noises for about a week before giving up entirely. Just curious if yours showed any warning signs I might have missed with mine. Keep me posted on what you find out! Always good to share these experiences since quite a few Hondas from our generation seem to have similar quirks.
I'll complete this as (who asked the initial question): Thanks for the detailed follow-up! Come to think of it, I did hear some weird buzzing sounds about two weeks ago when backing up, but honestly didn't think much of it at the time. Wish I'd paid more attention to that warning sign now! Really appreciate the tip about getting them to check the entire wiring harness. I've made an appointment with my mechanic for next week, and I'll definitely mention checking all the connections, not just the obvious ones. Don't want to deal with this issue twice like you did! It's actually pretty reassuring to hear that this is a common issue around this mileage. Makes me feel better knowing it's probably just normal wear and tear rather than something I did wrong. I'll update the thread once I get it fixed, might help someone else with the same problem down the road. Thanks again for all your help!
Hey there! I have some experience working on cars and faced something very similar with my 2006 Honda Pilot last year. The parking sensors were acting up just like yours, and the dashboard was lighting up like a Christmas tree! Took it to my regular workshop, and it turned out to be a faulty cable connection between the parking sensor module and the main harness. The connectors had corroded over time. The fix wasn't too complex, they replaced the damaged cables and cleaned the connectors. Cost me around 170 Euro, but it's been working perfectly since then. Based on your description, it sounds like you might be dealing with the same issue. But before jumping to conclusions, Have you noticed any issues in wet weather? Are all sensors failing or just some of them? Did it happen suddenly or gradually? Also worth mentioning that your Ridgeline and my Pilot share pretty similar electrical systems, being Honda siblings and all. I'd recommend getting it checked soon before it potentially causes other electrical issues.
