Hey there, appreciate the advice! Ah, it didn't even cross my mind that it could be the infotainment system itself, so that's a good shout. To answer your query, my Volvo S80 is sitting at 154906 km and apart from this, I haven't had any major issues with the electronics. Last service was around 150k km and they didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I definitely learned my lesson here to keep an eye on the infotainment system. Hey again! Your S80 is in a pretty good state seeing the mileage. I reckon my problem was more due to the XC90 being Diesel. Electronics can be fiddly with it.
