Thanks for the swift reply, bud. There weren't any other warning lights on the dash, strangely enough. My Veracruz ran smooth till it hit that 95873 KM mark just recently. I don't see any leaks/odd noises, only it's getting hot pretty quickly. Think I'll pay it a visit to the local shop too, hope being sorted out like yours. Those 220 Euro sound reasonable for peace of mind and a cool running car. Fingers crossed, eh! Much appreciated!
Hey, no problem! Ah, sounds pretty similar to what I experienced then. If there are no other warning lights and no visible leaks or weird noises, it's probably a good chance the coolant pump or its wiring may be the culprit. And yeah, going to a reliable local shop is definitely the way to go. They should be able to diagnose the issue accurately and hopefully get it fixed without breaking the bank. In my case, it was definitely worth the 220 Euro. Just be sure to fully explain the issue, the symptoms, and when they started happening. And remember, just because we had similar symptoms doesn't mean we'd have the exact same problem. Always better to get a proper diagnostic from the pros. Good luck with it, and hopefully, it gets sorted soon just like mine did! Keep us updated! Cheers!
Couldn't agree more with you! Will surely take your advice onboard, gonna explain the whole situation to the mechanic when I drop by. And you're absolutely right, just 'cause we got similar symptoms doesn't mean it's the exact same issue. Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious, though. Your quick response has been a real help. Will keep you and the gang updated here. Thanks a heap, bud! Cheers!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. I'd say I have some experience with cars, but I'm by no means an expert. My car had a malfunctioning coolant pump as well, turned out the cable on the pump/control unit was defective. Pretty much the same symptoms you've described, overheating and that Check Engine light popping on. Took it to my local workshop, really friendly and reliable. They spotted the issue right off the bat and had it fixed up fairly quickly. Had to fork out around 220 Euro, but hey, the car's been running smoothly ever since, so can't complain there. Quick question though, have you noticed any other warning lights or unusual behaviors from your Veracruz before it started overheating? Just helps to give a more complete picture. Cheers!
