Hey, I drive a Renault Megane (diesel, built in 2016) and had the same problem some time ago. It was definitely a faulty main relay. At my mechanic they had to replace the relay and reset the engine control unit. It was a bit complicated because they had to find the old relay and replace it, but other than that it wasn't a life-threatening problem for my car. Hey, sure, I can remember. So, I paid €120 for the repair of the defective main relay. But that was it. Since the visit to the mechanic, everything has been running like clockwork again.
