Whoa, sounds like you hit the nail on the head with your experience. It's definitely a little comforting to know I'm not the only one facing such an issue. You mentioned you replaced the entire intake hose, I was wondering how much that set you back? Also, have you run into any other issues since then or was that pretty much it? Thanks again for the advice, better safe than sorry I reckon!
Hey! Happy to help. My mechanic sorted out the intake hose leak for 100€. I was initially taken aback by the price, thinking it might be a cheap fix, but then again, it’s a professional job so it made sense in hindsight. Ever since the repair job, I haven’t had the same issue or anything major come up, really. The car's running pretty smooth now which is a huge relief. Fixing the intake hose leak definitely took care of the weird noises and engine problems. Always remember it's worth spending a bit initially to save on potential disaster down the line. Here's hoping your Fiat gets sorted soon without any hassle!
Thanks for sharing that. 100€ doesn't sound too bad considering how vital the fix is. It's really reassuring to learn that your car’s running fine post repair, which makes me feel a lot better about taking mine to the mechanic. This experience and advice you've shared has been a great help. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Looks like it’s time for me to head over to the mechanic’s to give my Fiat some much-needed attention! I hope it turns out to be the same issue and a simple hose replacement fixes everything. Will share though how it all turns out. Cheers!
Hey! Well, sounds like you've got yourself into quite a pickle there. Actually, I had the same issue on my 2009 Fiat Bravo about a year back. Engine was acting pretty wonky, same symptoms as yours, including that hissing noise and all. Upon inspection, yeah, just as you guessed, it turned out to be a leak in the intake hose. I'm afraid to tell you this, but it can be a pretty serious issue if not dealt with. That leak means you'll suck air into the engine which doesn't get measured by the mass air flow sensor. So, ultimately, you'll get a poor air-fuel mixture and mess up the combustion process. Hence the reduced power, rough running, hesitation, and all those unfriendly symptoms you're experiencing. Fixing it? Well, the mechanic had to replace the entire intake hose. It's a pretty straightforward procedure, not a big deal if you take it to a good mechanic. He should be able to handle it with the right care and tools. Remember, don't ignore the warning signs! Get it checked out as soon as possible. It's always easier to fix a problem when it's small than wait until it turns into a nightmare. Good luck!
