Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with the headlight problems. That's really helpful information about the control module and wiring, sounds exactly like what might be happening with mine. Can I ask how much the repairs set you back in the end? Just trying to get an idea of what I might be looking at cost-wise. Also, have you had any other electrical niggles pop up since getting it fixed? My Range Rover's been pretty good overall, but these electrical gremlins are starting to worry me a bit. Cheers!
Hey again! Happy to give you an update! The repairs ended up being pretty reasonable compared to what I was expecting. The headlight control module and rewiring work came to around 102.50 € which included replacing that faulty A lamp. The best news is that since getting it sorted, everything's been working perfectly, including those annoying indicator problems that were driving me nuts! I totally get your concern about electrical issues. Since the fix, I haven't had any other electrical problems pop up *knocks on wood*. My Range Rover's been running like a charm. The specialist really knew their stuff, and it made all the difference having someone who really understands these complex electrical systems. Just keep an eye on things, but once you get it properly sorted by someone who knows Range Rovers, you should be good to go. These cars are fantastic when everything's working as it should! Let me know how you get on with yours! Cheers!
Thanks a lot for that detailed update! That's actually a relief to hear about the cost, I was imagining it would be way more expensive. And it's really reassuring to know you haven't had any more electrical problems since getting it fixed. Actually, I just got back from a specialist mechanic today. You were spot on, it was the control module causing all the trouble. They found some water damage that had corroded the connections too. The whole thing took about three hours to fix, but wow, what a difference! The headlights are super bright now and perfectly aligned. Even the indicators are working properly again. The mechanic also gave everything a good check over and said the rest of the electrical system looks fine, so hopefully, that's the end of these issues. Thanks again for your help, it really pointed me in the right direction and saved me from getting more frustrated with my regular mechanic! Take care!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Range Rover Sport Hybrid (178k km). The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced last month. At the garage, they found it wasn't just a simple alignment problem, turned out the headlight control module was failing, and there were some corroded wiring connections. The flickering and dimming were the biggest red flags. They had to replace the module and rewire some sections. It's actually a serious electrical issue that could get worse if not fixed properly. The indicators acting up are connected to the same electrical system, so it makes sense they're misbehaving too. I'd suggest finding a garage that specializes in Range Rover electrical systems. A regular mechanic might miss the underlying electrical problems and just try to realign the lights, which won't solve the real issue. Best of luck with the fix.
