Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to hear from someone who's dealt with the same problem. My Range actually started acting up again last week, but this time it's making a slight whistling noise when the blower's on high. Would you mind sharing how much the repair set you back? And have you had any other HVAC issues since the sensor was replaced? I'm trying to figure out if I should expect any other related problems down the line. Thanks!
Hey again! Just wanted to follow up, yep, after getting the AUC sensor fixed, I haven't had any more HVAC drama with my Range Rover Sport. It cost me 90€ for the sensor replacement, which honestly wasn't as painful as I expected! The whistling noise you mentioned wasn't something I experienced, though. It might be worth getting that checked out separately, could be something simple like debris in the system. Since the repair, my climate control's been working like a charm, no inconsistent blowing, no weak output, nothing. It's actually quite nice not having to fiddle with the settings constantly anymore! The mechanic definitely knew what they were doing, and the genuine part they used has held up perfectly. Haven't had any other HVAC issues pop up either, so that's been a relief. Seems like once the sensor's sorted, it stays sorted. Mind you, I've been pretty religious about changing the cabin filter regularly since then, probably helps keep everything running smoothly. Let me know if you need anything else!
Thanks so much for all the details! Just got back from the mechanic today actually. You were right, getting someone who knows Range Rovers made all the difference. Turns out my issue was a bit more complex than just the AUC sensor. The whistling noise was coming from a small crack in the ventilation duct, and they also found some debris blocking the airflow. The whole job, including parts and labor, came to about 150€, more than what you paid, but they did have to fix that extra duct problem. They were super transparent about everything and even showed me the damaged parts. Got it all sorted in about 4 hours, and wow, what a difference! The AC's blowing strong and steady now, no more weird noises. Really appreciate your help in pushing me to get it checked out. Definitely keeping this mechanic's number for future reference. Thanks again for sharing your experience, helped me avoid another frustrating garage situation!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Range Rover Sport (gas engine) last year. The symptoms were exactly what you're describing, inconsistent blower speed and weak output. Initially thought it was just the cabin filter, but turned out the AUC sensor was completely shot. The fix wasn't too complex, but it needed specific diagnostic equipment to properly test and calibrate the new sensor. It wasn't a serious issue that would affect the car's core functions, but it sure made driving uncomfortable until fixed. The garage replaced the sensor, cleaned the entire HVAC system, and recalibrated everything. Just make sure you find someone with Range Rover experience, these systems are a bit different from regular cars. My garage had to order the genuine part, which took a couple of days to arrive. The repair itself only took about half a day. Hope this helps!
