Q50 Hybrid Warning Light & Electric Issues Solutions?

Error in the lighting

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey! Got a 2020 Infiniti Q Hybrid that's acting weird lately. Getting a warning light on the dash and some lighting issues throughout the car. I'm thinking it might be a bulb problem, but not sure. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms? What did your mechanic find and how did they fix it? Would really appreciate hearing about your repair experiences.

Hey there! I have some experience with cars (not a pro, but I've dealt with my fair share of issues). Actually, I had a similar problem with my 2018 Infiniti QX Hybrid last year (I also own a Q50). Got that same warning light and funky lighting behavior. Took it to my regular workshop, and it turned out to be a faulty cable connection to one of the lamps. They had to replace some wiring and reconnect everything properly cost me about 180€ to fix. Now everything's working perfectly! Which specific lights are giving you trouble on your Q? And are you getting any specific error messages? Knowing these details would help me tell if it's the same issue I had.

Thanks for sharing your experience! My Q has 180008 KM on the clock, and it's started showing similar symptoms right after my latest service. In my case, it's mainly the left headlight that flickers occasionally, and the warning light comes on unusually during night drives. Sounds pretty similar to what you went through. I'm a bit relieved to hear it might just be a wiring issue was worried it could be something more serious with the electrical system. Did your mechanic mention how long the repair took? Thinking about taking it in next week but need to plan around work.

Hey again! Yeah, that definitely sounds very similar to what I experienced with my QX Hybrid. After you mentioned the mileage and the timing (right after service), it actually reminds me even more of my situation. In my case, the repair took about 2-3 hours not too bad at all. I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up after lunch. The flickering in your left headlight is exactly what I had too! What's interesting is that mine also started acting up after a routine service, which makes me think some connections might have been disturbed during maintenance. Quick tip from my experience make sure they check all the ground connections while they're at it. My mechanic found that besides the faulty cable, one of the ground wires was a bit corroded, which was contributing to the intermittent issues. They cleaned and secured it as part of the fix, and I haven't had any problems since. If you're planning to take it in next week, I'd suggest booking it early in the day. That way, if they find anything unexpected (though I doubt they will), they'll have time to sort it out same day. Let me know how it goes would be interested to hear if it's the same issue I had!

Oh thanks so much for all this detail! Really helpful to know it's just a few hours' job I can definitely work that into my schedule. I'll make sure to book it for first thing in the morning like you suggested. And that's a great tip about the ground connections I'll definitely mention that to my mechanic when I take it in. It's weird how both our cars started acting up after service, right? Makes me wonder if they knocked something loose during the maintenance. I'll update you next week after I get it checked out. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience definitely feeling less worried about this now!
