Thanks for sharing your experience with the Outlander! Mine's at 55369 KM and just had its service last month. I'm not getting any specific error codes, the warning light just comes on and stays solid. It started about a week ago, first with occasional central locking problems, then gradually got worse until yesterday when it wouldn't start at all. Your repair solution sounds promising, was it a quick fix at your workshop? I'm just trying to figure out if I should limp it to my local mechanic or get it towed. Good to know the cost range too, helps me budget for what's coming!
Hey again! Thanks for those details about your Proudia. Yeah, when I had this issue with my Outlander, it started exactly the same way, those annoying unusual central locking problems that just got worse over time. Mine was at around 60K KM when it happened, so pretty similar mileage to yours. The fix at my workshop was actually pretty quick, took them about 2-3 hours total. But honestly, given that your car won't start at all now, I'd definitely recommend getting it towed. I tried driving mine when the symptoms first started, but looking back, that wasn't the smartest move, you never know when it might completely give up! Just a heads up, while my repair was around 290€, prices might vary for the Proudia since it's a hybrid. My mechanic mentioned that hybrid systems can sometimes make these repairs a bit more complex. But at least the diagnosis should be pretty straightforward since you're having the same symptoms I did. Oh, and one more thing, after they fixed mine, they recommended checking the key fob battery too. Apparently, a weak key fob battery can sometimes contribute to these issues. Might be worth checking yours while you're at it! Keep us posted on how it goes! Always interested to hear how these things turn out.
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! You've honestly been super helpful. I think I'll definitely take your advice and get it towed, better safe than sorry, right? Already called my local workshop and they can take a look at it tomorrow morning. You make a good point about the hybrid system possibly making it more expensive, I'll brace myself for that! And thanks for the tip about the key fob battery, just checked mine and it's actually pretty old, so I'll get that replaced too while I'm at it. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I'll update the thread once I know what the actual problem was. Thanks again!
Hey there! I've had some experience with cars and actually faced something very similar with my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (my third Mitsubishi after the Pajero). Had the exact same symptoms, warning light, central locking issues, and starting problems. Took it to my regular workshop and yep, it was the insertion slot that was acting up. Cost me about 290€ to fix, but it's been working perfectly since then. Quick question though, are you getting any specific error codes? That would help pinpoint if you're dealing with the same issue I had. Also, how long has this been happening? Let me know these details and I might be able to share more specific info from my experience!
