Problems with windshield heating on Skoda Octavia 2017

Fault stored

|

Heated windows without function

Hi repair professionals, I'm currently struggling with my 2017 Skoda Octavia petrol engine and I need your expertise. The heated windshield is completely out of order and there is an error in the fault memory. Could the problem be related to the limited function of the windshield heating? Above all, I would like to know whether any of you have ever had to deal with a problem like this and how it was resolved in the workshop. What experiences have you had? Any tips will help me. Thank you!

Hi, your problem sounds familiar, I had a similar one with my 2015 Skoda Superb Diesel. I have some car mechanic experience, but I'm definitely not a professional. I had this problem at my garage and they said it was due to the windshield connector being loose/defective. The repair cost me 225 euros and everything has worked perfectly since then. To help you better, it would be ideal to know more about your vehicle specifications. Exactly which model are you driving? Have you noticed any other symptoms? Any additional information could be helpful.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. My Octavia is a 2017 with 2 TFSI, I've done 58120 km so far and had my last service about 6 months ago. I haven't noticed any other symptoms. Would you recommend I go straight to the garage or are there any steps I could try first?

It really sounds like it could be something to do with the windshield connector. As your Skoda is a similar model to mine, I would say that the probability of this is very high. Alternatively, you could first try clearing the fault memory and see if the fault comes back. If this is the case, I would definitely go to the workshop. A loose or defective plug connection cannot really be repaired by a layman. You could look under the hood and check whether all the connections are tight, but that's about it. A specialist should definitely take a look. This could save you major damage and costs. Good luck, I hope I've been able to help you!

Hi, thanks for the advice! I'll clear the fault memory and see if the fault reappears. And if it does, I will certainly go to the garage. It's better to be safe than sorry before the problem gets bigger. Thanks for your quick and helpful support!

Skoda octavia station 2017 1.4 gasoline CNG, the heating system does not work and I noticed that the water temperature goes almost immediately to 90 degrees while it used to rise more slowly. What can it be ? The air conditioning works and I have already reset it by pressing A/C and front air button.

It sounds like you might be dealing with a faulty thermostat. If the thermostat is stuck in the open position, it could cause the engine to heat up more quickly than usual, and this could also affect the heating system. I would recommend checking the thermostat first. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, it's best to have a professional mechanic take a look. Please keep us updated on your progress.
