ABS/DSC system is not working

Hi folks, I have recently had a problem with my 2012 Opel Agila petrol engine. Various warning lights such as ABS and DSC are on, and my speedometer is also displaying an error message. My first assumption is a defective wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor). Have any of you had similar experiences and can give me tips on how to rectify the fault? How did you get the problem solved in the workshop and what were your experiences? Thank you in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Opel Astra petrol engine. I'm not a car expert, but I have a bit of experience with my own car. This really sounds like a defective ABS control unit. Various tests were carried out at my garage at the time and they confirmed that the ABS control unit was broken. The repair cost me 1000.0 euros. It would be helpful if you could tell me a bit more about your Agila - how many kilometers have you got on it? The exact engine designation would also be helpful. Hopefully my experience will help you!

Hey, thanks for your helpful tip! My speedometer now shows 82420 km and my last inspection was about six months ago, when everything was in order. It's just really crazy that all these warning lights are coming on at once. Well, I guess I have no choice but to have the car checked at the garage. It's really stupid that this always happens when you least need it. Thanks again for the help!

No problem, you're welcome! Yes, you're right, problems like that always crop up when you least need them. I would advise you to have the car checked at a garage, where they can tell you whether it's the ABS control unit or perhaps the wheel speed sensor. Unfortunately, the control unit was defective in my Astra, but hopefully it's only a minor issue in your case. By the way, as your mileage is still relatively low, it may well just be the sensor. Stay optimistic and don't let the warning lights spoil your mood. Good luck and let us know what the garage says!

Hi, thanks again for your support! I will follow your advice and take the car to the garage to have it checked. It's really reassuring to hear that it could just be the sensor. That makes the whole thing less worrying. Let's hope for the best! I'll keep you posted and let you know what the garage finds out. Thanks again and have a nice day!

Hello, I have a question about my Opel Meriva B 1.4 built in 2010. I got the error message C0050 circuit wheel speed sensor rear right. The ABS light is on, thought it had something to do with the wheel bearing, replaced it. Now the ABS light is still on and the error is still there, what could it be?

It sounds like the issue could be related to the wheel speed sensor itself or the wiring leading to it. I would suggest checking the sensor for any visible damage or debris that might be interfering with its operation. If it looks fine, you might want to check the wiring and connectors for any signs of damage or corrosion. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, it would be best to have a mechanic look at it. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?
