Problems with warning lights and airbag warning light on Peugeot 5008 Diesel 2017

Airbag warning light

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, I'm having problems with my 2017 Peugeot 5008 diesel. The warning lights in the speedometer and the airbag warning light come on. I suspect that it could be a malfunction of the active hood. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and can give me some troubleshooting tips? I would like to know how the workshop solved the problem for you and what your experiences are. Many thanks in advance.

Hi guys, this reminds me of a similar problem I experienced with my 2015 Peugeot 508. I have a bit of experience with cars, so I don't know everything, but I can tell you what happened with me. I had a warning light on my speedometer and it turned out that the acceleration sensor was faulty. I had it repaired at my garage and it cost a lousy 315 euros. But first I need more details about your vehicle. How many kilometers has your car run? What maintenance work has been carried out so far? The more you can tell me about the car, the better I can help you. Try out my suggestion first and let me know how it goes. All the best!

Hey, thanks for your answer. My 5008 Diesel has already done 71612 KM and the last service was about 7000 KM ago. I haven't had any major repairs so far, just regular maintenance. So this is the first major problem I've had. I'll check out your tip about the acceleration sensor. Hopefully it's not as expensive as yours. Have a nice day!

Hey, glad to hear that my tip might be helpful. With the mileage and service interval, your Peugeot should normally still be running fine. The accelerometer is usually a smaller part that needs replacing, and although it was a bit expensive for me, the cost varies by garage and region. Since you've already done the service, I'm assuming that normal maintenance issues like oil changes or similar can't be the cause. So be sure to check the sensor. Hope this helps and keep your fingers crossed that it's nothing major. Keep us posted and good luck!
