Hi, thanks for your feedback! I don't have the exact model type on my screen, but I can tell you that I already have quite a few kilometers on it, namely a whopping 235345 km. I noticed the problems recently, actually since my last inspection about two weeks ago. Hope that helps you. Does anyone else have any other ideas?

Greetings, your information will definitely help. The high mileage and the age of the car could actually be the cause of the Hall sensor malfunction. I once found out that these sensors can simply get "tired" over time and stop working. It could also be a bad battery or a malfunction in the lock itself. When I had this on my Passat, I first checked the battery and then the sensor itself. Maybe try this first and see if the problem disappears. Is the car still drivable or are the problems so serious that professional help is absolutely necessary? If so, I would recommend taking it straight to the garage and having a fault readout carried out there. Please keep me posted on how things progress. Good luck and hopefully it's nothing too bad!

Hey, those are great tips, thanks for that! The car can't be driven at the moment, so I'll probably have to come back to your workshop idea. I'll test out the battery and sensor tomorrow. I'll let you know as soon as I have any news. Until then, many thanks and let's hope it's nothing serious!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2001 VW Passat Diesel, and only have experience with some car repairs. I contacted my garage due to the similar symptoms and found out afterwards that the cable connection from the slot to the control unit was defective. This cost me a total of 155 euros. To be able to help you more precisely, it might be helpful if you could provide a little more information about your vehicle. Exactly what model do you have and how long has the problem existed? Any information can be helpful in solving the problem!
