Problems with the navigation system, audio and interior light in the Peugeot 407 model year 2010 - experiences and solutions wanted

Navigationssystem is not working

Audio system is not working

Hey guys, I have a strange problem with my 2010 Peugeot 407, gasoline engine. Both the sat nav and the audio are not working properly and I think maybe the interior light is broken. Have any of you ever had the same problem and can give me tips on how you got it fixed at the garage? Every bit of experience helps. Thank you!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2009 Peugeot 407. I have some experience with cars, especially with electrical/control parts. My garage diagnosed a faulty control unit as the cause of the problems mentioned. It cost me 1000 euros to replace the thing. For a more accurate assessment, it would be good to know if you have any other problems. Has your car displayed any error codes recently?

Hey, thanks for the tip. I didn't get any error codes displayed. It was just serviced at 164,019 KM and no other problems were found there. It's actually just the electronics that are acting up. The control unit sounds plausible, so I'll have that checked. 1000 euros is quite a lot... I don't know if it's worth it with this old darling. But I'll have a look. Thanks again!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! Yes, the control unit is indeed an expensive issue, especially on older models. But checking whether it is actually causing the problem would be a good step. However, if you had received an error code, it would have been a lot easier to narrow down the cause. But unfortunately that's the way it is sometimes, the electronics do what they want! Perhaps another option would be to look for cheaper spare parts at a scrap yard - this can save a lot of money, especially with older models. Good luck with checking and repairing!

Yes, that seems like a good idea. I'll see if I can find something suitable at the scrap yard. Thanks for the tips and for thinking along. Thank goodness there are such helpful people here. I'll keep you up to date! Ciao!
