Problems with the navigation and audio system in the Renault Twingo model year 2010 - experience reports and solutions

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey guys, I have a strange problem with my Renault Twingo (built in 2010, gasoline engine). The satnav is totally crazy and I think the audio system has something to do with it. Has anyone ever had the same problem and can tell me about their experiences? How did you get it fixed at the garage and how did you deal with the situation? Any tips would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Renault Clio, I have a bit of experience with cars but am by no means an expert. I had the problem diagnosed at the local garage and it turned out that the cable connection between the control unit and the display was faulty, a bad connection was causing the problem. The repair cost me 165 euros. Got my car back and everything is running fine now. Maybe share some additional vehicle information with me so I can help you with more general or specific problems? Good luck with that!

Hi, thanks for your reply! Don't I sound like a broken mechanic? Anyway, my Twingo has only done 49,420 km and the last service was only recently. The cable problem sounds plausible, but I want to be sure before I go to the garage. No desire to spend money unnecessarily, you know what I mean? Any other ideas? Thanks in any case!

Moin, I totally understand you. If it's not absolutely necessary, I wouldn't want to spend unnecessary money in the workshop either. My Clio had this cable problem, but of course that doesn't mean it's the same with your Twingo. You can see if the fuses responsible for the audio system and the navigation system are blown. Maybe you're lucky and it's just a minor problem. If that doesn't help, you could also try resetting the navigation system completely. Your saved destinations will then be lost, but maybe that will solve the problem. All the best and let us know how it goes!

Hey, you're right! I checked the fuses and sure enough, one of them was blown. I replaced it and it seems to be working again now. I'll keep the reset idea in mind in case there are problems again. I really appreciate it, all the best to you too!
