Problems with the headlight cleaning system on the Renault Koleos 2010: tips and experiences for repair

Headlight cleaning system without function

Hey guys, I'm currently scratching around with my Renault Koleos (gasoline engine, built in 2010). I've noticed that the headlight cleaning system no longer works. Could this possibly be a fault with the headlight cleaning system? Have any of you ever had experience with this and can give me a tip on how to have it fixed in the workshop? Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Renault Scenic (built in 2008) some time ago. I'm not a mechanic, but I do know a bit about cars. When the control unit, i.e. the brain of my car, was defective, I also had problems with the headlight cleaning. After consulting my garage, we replaced it and I had to pay 1000 euros for it. Maybe it's the same problem with your Koleos. Can you perhaps give a few more details? Model, mileage, etc.? Then I might be able to help you better.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! So my Koleos has 83,561 km on it. It's also been a while since the last service... I think I should probably go back to the garage and have it checked. The control unit sounds really expensive though... I'm not a car professional at all, so I hope it's something cheaper. Do you have any other ideas or similar experiences?

Hi, no problem, you're welcome! At 83,561 km, your Koleos still has quite a bit on the clock, but it's definitely not at the end yet. And the garage sounds like a good idea, even if it could be expensive. I once heard that a defective pump motor for the headlight cleaning system could also be the problem. That would definitely be cheaper than replacing the control unit. Perhaps you should have this checked first, they can quickly determine this. I hope this helps you and you find a cheaper solution. Keep us up to date!

Hey, that's a good tip! I hadn't considered that at all. I'll definitely have it checked. The defective pump motor sounds cheaper than replacing the whole control unit. Thank you very much for your help. I'll definitely let you know as soon as I know what's going on. Keep your fingers crossed that it won't be too expensive. Thanks again, guys!
