Problems with the fan and cooling/heating in a Toyota GT86: experiences and solutions

Blower does not work properly

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey guys, I'm having a strange problem with my Toyota GT86 (2015 model, gasoline engine). The fan isn't working properly and I've also noticed a lack of cooling/heating. I suspect there might be a signal error on the AUC sensor. Have any of you had similar experiences and could give me some troubleshooting tips? Above all, it would help me to know how this was rectified in the workshop. Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Toyota Auris, year 2013. I am not a master mechanic, but I have some experience with cars. I took the car to the garage where they found that the sensor itself was faulty. It cost 90 euros to fix it. Can you please give more information about your car? Maybe then I can help you better.

Sure, thanks for your answer! My GT86 now has 170573 km on the clock and the last service was about 6 months ago. The problems only occurred in the last few weeks. Hope that helps you. Do you have any other tips?

Hey, no problem! At your mileage, various components could actually be giving up the ghost. I'm not a mechanic, but I would check the air conditioning compressor. It's usually responsible for heating and cooling. It could be that it needs replacing. We've had this with the Auris before. Make sure the sensor is working properly and is clean. If the problem persists, I would advise you to visit a professional workshop. Nothing can replace the expert opinion of a real mechanic. Hope this helps you!

Many thanks for the advice! I will look for the air conditioning compressor and the sensor at home. If I can't fix it myself, I will definitely go to a repair shop. I really appreciate your time and help! Stay well!
