Hey, thanks for the answer! My BMW is a 3 series and not a 4 or 6 series. As for the engine variant, I don't remember exactly, but I'll ask the garage about the electric changeover valve. By the way, my BMW has run 127431 km. Maybe that could also be the problem, that it has already covered so many kilometers. I'll have it checked and get back to you. Thanks again for the tip!

Hello, no problem! I'm glad I was able to help you. Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with your BMW 3 Series, as I've only ever driven a 1 Series. But of course, it could also have something to do with the mileage. The more kilometers a car has behind it, the more susceptible it is to various problems. But in any case, have the electric changeover valve checked and then let me know what the garage has to say. Maybe they can read out the fault directly and repair it. And I'm looking forward to hearing whether it really is the secondary air valve! Until then, good luck and keep us up to date!

Hi, I only have a little experience with cars, but I once had a similar problem with my BMW 1 Series, which I bought in 2004. My electric changeover valve was defective and I had to have it repaired at my garage. It cost me 140 euros at the time and then the problem was solved. Perhaps you should ask your garage about the electric changeover valve? Just to be sure, is your BMW a 4-series or a 6-series? And which engine variant do you have exactly? Maybe then I can help you even better.
