Hey, thanks for your quick reply! Good idea to check the rest of the car. I last had an inspection 185780 km ago and they said everything was tiptop. Sure, something could have changed since then. It's crazy that the EGR valve can cause so much trouble. Just under 355 euros is quite a lot of money. Did you at least drive quietly afterwards? Thanks again for the help, really great!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! So after the EGR valve was replaced on my Peugeot, it ran like clockwork again. No more problems starting, the engine light stayed off and the engine power was back. The shuddering at idle and that funny exhaust smell were also gone. You could say that the 355 euros were well invested. It was a bit expensive, but definitely better than constant new problems and high fuel bills due to poor performance.
