Problems with the electric seats in the Opel Cascada 2012: troubleshooting tips wanted

Electric seats malfunction

Hey guys, I'm having problems with my 2012 Opel Cascada and thought you might be able to help. The electric seats are not doing what they should and the fault memory is also showing something. My assumption is that it is due to a functional limitation of the electric seats. Have you had similar experiences and can you perhaps give me some tips on troubleshooting? How did you get this solved in the workshop and what were your experiences? Thank you in advance!

Hi, so yes, I had a similar experience with my 2010 Opel Astra. The problem was also the seat module - it was faulty. I would describe my level of car knowledge as "some experience". At the garage they were really helpful, they explained to me exactly what the problem was and what they needed to do to fix it. I paid 435.0 euros for it, which may sound a lot, but when you consider it's an electrical part, I think it's a fair price. However, to help you better, I would need some more information about your vehicle. Which model do you have exactly? And what error message does the fault memory show exactly?

Hi, thanks for the answer! My car is an Opel Cascada from 2012, with a proud 110213 km on the clock and the last service was a while ago. The fault memory shows "malfunction of the electric seat adjustment module". Could it also be due to the seat module, as with your Astra? Thank you for your help!

Hey, thanks for the info! With the error message "malfunction of the electric seat adjustment module", it could very well be the seat module, just like it was with my Astra. However, it's difficult to say without seeing it for yourself. I would advise you to have it checked at the garage. They may even be able to open the module and check it instead of replacing it directly. I had a good experience there at the time. Hope this helps you!

Hi, thanks for your advice! I will follow your suggestions and take my Cascada to the garage so they can check the seat module. I'm also hoping they might be able to fix it without replacing it to save costs. Your input was really helpful and I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. I will let you know how it went. Thanks again!
