Problems with the cruise control system on the Peugeot 4007 Diesel, model year 2009: experiences and suggested solutions

Cruise control without function

Fault stored

Hello everyone, I have been having problems with my 2009 Peugeot 4007 Diesel for some time now. Specifically, my cruise control system is not working and there is also an error stored. I suspect that the problem could be caused by the cruise control. Have any of you had similar experiences? How did you get this solved in the workshop? I would be very happy to hear your tips and experiences!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2011 Peugeot 5008 diesel, I would describe myself as someone with a bit of experience when it comes to cars. At the garage they advised me that the engine control unit was faulty. It cost me 1000 euros, but after that the problem was fixed. I would recommend taking your car to a garage to have the engine control unit checked. At the same time, it would be helpful if you could give more details about your car, such as mileage, whether you have already replaced anything and specific faults that the on-board computer is showing. This could help to better localize the problem and help you in more detail. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the tip! I currently have 163027 km on the clock. So mine has already done a lot more than yours. I haven't replaced anything yet. At the last service, everything was okay, nothing special was found. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the exact error codes, but I'll ask the garage about the engine control unit. I just hope that it will be a bit cheaper for me! Best regards!

Moin, that sounds like an impressive number of kilometers, but don't worry, I don't think the mileage alone is the problem. A defective engine control unit can also appear without any previous signs. It's a good idea to have the ECU checked at the garage. The guys there have the necessary tools and experience to fix the problem. And it would actually be great if it turns out cheaper for you! To increase the chances of it being cheaper, you could also ask whether it would be possible to fit a used or reconditioned control unit. This could bring the price down a little. But that depends on the workshop, of course. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Best regards!

Hello, thank you very much for your detailed reply and your good advice. I also think the suggestion about the used or overhauled control unit is a very good one, and I will definitely take it up with the workshop. Let's hope for the best! I'll be in touch and let you know how it goes. See you then and best regards!
