Problems with the check engine light and gearbox on the 2012 Renault Wind Diesel

Hi guys, I have a strange problem with my 2012 Renault Wind Diesel, the check engine light is on and the gearbox shifts erratically. I think the problem might be related to the gear selector lever on the gearbox. Has anyone had similar experiences and can give me troubleshooting tips? I would be particularly interested to know how the garage solved the problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 Renault Clio Diesel, I have to be honest I only have a little experience when it comes to cars so I was a little confused. I took it to the garage and it turned out that the cable connection on the gear selector was damaged. The repair cost me 365 euros at the time. So it could be that you're having the same problem right now. To give more details and help further, it would be useful if you could give us some more information about your car. What type of transmission do you have and have you recently made any changes or modified your car in any way? It might be important to find the cause of your problem. I hope this helps a little.

Hey, thanks for your advice! It's interesting that you once had something similar. Well, my gearbox is a 6-speed manual and no, I haven't rebuilt or modified anything on the car. The last service was at 102463 km and I haven't noticed any changes since then. I think I'll take it to the garage and have it checked. Maybe it really is just a broken cable on the selector lever. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's nothing more serious. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, no problem, that sounds good to me. A 6-speed manual gearbox is quite robust and if you haven't changed anything major, then you need to take a closer look at what could be wrong. A broken cable sounds realistic if you have also noticed irregular shifting behavior. I remember that when I had my Renault Clio I also went to workshop after workshop before I came to the conclusion that it was the gear selector. So, it's definitely worth getting different opinions before you commit to a particular repair. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the cause is found quickly and that it's nothing more serious. I will be happy to answer any further questions you may have. Stay tuned and let us know how it goes! Have a safe journey.

Hey, thanks for your encouraging words! I will definitely get several opinions before deciding on a repair. Hopefully I can find someone who can at least take a look at it for free. I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I find out anything. Thanks again for your help and good wishes! All's well that ends well, hopefully. Take care!
