Hi, thanks for the tip! My car has around 81866 kilometers on it. I had my last service about 5 months ago. Everything was still fine then. Since then there's been no real breakdown or anything, just this central locking thing. I'll probably have to take it to a mechanic. Hopefully he'll find something and it won't be as expensive as yours.

Hey, no problem! I'm glad I could help. With your mileage and last service, there are many potential causes. I guess it really could be a faulty cable connection like I had. But it really depends on what the mechanic finds. Sometimes it can be something simpler (and cheaper), like a dead battery in the key fob. Keep us posted and I hope it doesn't get too expensive!

Hi, thanks for your help and tips! I'll check the trailer battery and see if that's the problem. If it doesn't work, it's off to the mechanic. I also hope that it won't be too expensive. I'll let you know as soon as I know more. See you then and thanks again!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Citroen Berlingo. I'm not a car mechanic, but I do have some experience with cars. On my vehicle the cable connection was faulty and this affected the function of the key fob and central locking. I took it to my garage for repair and it cost 155 euros to fix the problem. Could you perhaps tell us a bit more about your vehicle? Maintenance, mileage, last breakdown and so on? That would help me to help you more accurately.
