Problems with the blower in the Toyota Prius 2005 - looking for tips and experiences

Blower does not work properly

Hello everyone, I have a strange problem with my 2005 Toyota Prius with hybrid engine. The fan is somehow not working properly. I think it might be a fault with the air conditioning control unit, but I'm not sure. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and can perhaps give me some troubleshooting tips? I would be particularly interested to know how you solved the problem in the workshop and what your experiences were. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, I actually had a similar problem with my 2003 Toyota Corolla. I would describe myself more as a car enthusiast with some experience, so not a mechanic, but I know a bit about it. At first I also thought the problem was the A/C control panel. But it turned out that the air conditioning control unit was faulty. I had to take it in for repair and paid 940 euros for it. I can tell you, it wasn't fun, especially because of the price and waiting time. But I'm glad it's finally fixed. What mileage does your Prius have? How long have you noticed this fan fault? The more details you give me, the better advice I might be able to give you. Just get in touch! See you then!

Hey, yeah, that sounds exactly like the problem I'm having. My Prius currently has 48727 KM km. I've kind of noticed the blower error on and off, but I didn't think it was anything serious at first. However, it seems to be getting worse. Thanks for the tip about the A/C control unit, I will definitely take it to the garage and find out. I hope it doesn't get too expensive.... All the best!

Hey, I guess we have the same bad luck! But don't worry, you're not alone. It's actually a known problem with these models. It got worse and worse with my Corolla too. And with your mileage, it's not unusual for a problem like this to occur. It's always a good idea to have it checked by a specialist. And who knows, maybe you'll be lucky and it will be less expensive. Hopefully it won't be that expensive for you... Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Get in touch if you know more or have any further questions. Stay tuned and have a safe journey!
