Problems with the alarm system of a 2008 Citroen C6: Suspected fault with the tilt sensor

Alarm system malfunctions

Hey guys, I have a strange problem with my 2008 Citroen C6 with gasoline engine. The alarm system is acting up somehow. I suspect that the fault lies with the anti-theft alarm system's tilt sensor, but I'm not sure. Have you ever experienced something like this and how did you get it fixed in the workshop? I would be pleased to hear your experiences and tips. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I happened to have a similar problem with my 2006 Citroen C5. I am not a car expert, but have some experience with car problems. I took my car to the garage. After a thorough examination, it turned out that the fault was actually in the sensors for the alarm system. The garage fixed the whole thing for 250 euros. Can you perhaps give me a few more details about your car and the problem? Perhaps I can then help you more specifically. Best regards!

Thanks for the quick reply. My Citroen now has a proud 17,4004 KM on the clock. The last inspection was about six months ago. The problems with the alarm system came on quite suddenly. Otherwise everything is actually great. Just this annoying alarm system. Well, if it costs around 250 euros, I'll probably have to visit the garage. See you then!

Hey, cool that you replied so quickly. Well, with my old C5, the alarm system mainly caused problems when it was cold. I'm guessing it could be similar for you, especially if you say it came on suddenly. The cost of the repair is really okay when you think about the other costs you could incur if the car is parked somewhere wrong and the alarm system is acting up, right? But be sure to take it to the garage and have it checked. If you're lucky, they might even be able to read something out and help you quickly. Let us know how it goes, okay? See you then and have a good trip!

That's right, it was quite cold when the alarm system first went off. So your assumption could be correct. I also think it's worth the 250 euros if it means I don't have any more problems and I'm no longer constantly annoyed by that shrill siren, hehe. I'll take your advice and visit the garage. As soon as I know anything new, I'll let you know. Thanks for your help, really cool of you. See you soon and have a safe journey!

Hello everyone, Have you ever checked the plugs on your sensors to see if they have any water ingress? This can often lead to a problem even though the sensors are good. Greetings Daniel
