Problems with the air conditioning in the Opel Antara 2012: Looking for tips and experiences

Hey guys, I've recently had a small problem with my Opel Antara, built in 2012, petrol engine. The air conditioning only blows warm air, the heating/cooling is no longer sufficient and the A/C system no longer starts. I think that the signal error of the interior temperature sensor could be to blame. Have any of you ever had similar problems and been able to have them fixed in the workshop? What were your experiences? I would be grateful for any tips!

Hello, I am not a car expert, but I have already had a few experiences with my Opel Mokka, built in 2014. I had a similar problem. The air conditioning control unit was defective. I had it repaired in a workshop and had to pay almost exactly 880.0 euros for it. However, it could of course be a different fault with your Antara. Can you perhaps give a few more details about your car? For example, how many kilometers you have already driven or whether there were any other symptoms? This will help me to give you an even more precise answer.

Sure, thanks for your quick reply! My Antara already has 65471 kilometers on the clock, so that's quite a lot. Another symptom I've noticed is that the temperature in the car is generally uncomfortably hot, even though it's not that warm outside. It's also been a while since the last service, so I think it might be time for another workshop visit. But of course I wanted to get some opinions first before I do that. Anyway, thanks for your tip, I'll have the climate control unit checked out.

Hey, no problem! With so many kilometers and the fact that it's been a while since the last service, a visit to the workshop is certainly not a bad idea. It sounds like you might actually have a problem with your cabin temperature sensor or your climate control unit. I would definitely get that checked out. And the unnaturally high temperature in the car also points to this. It was similar for me back then, the car was simply always too warm, even though I had turned the temperature down. Have it checked at the garage and let them know what they find. Hopefully the whole thing can be fixed cheaper for you than it was for me. Good luck, buddy!

Hey, great! I see you've really helped me a lot, thank you very much! You're right, I'll visit the garage as soon as possible and have the problem checked. It's really frustrating always having to drive in such a hot car, even when it's not that hot outside. I really hope it doesn't get as expensive as it did for you. I will definitely keep you posted! Thanks again for your help and see you later buddy!
