Problems with the air conditioning in the Mercedes SL Class 2007 - tips and solutions wanted

A/C System Not Engaging

Air conditioning blows warm air

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey guys, I have a rather strange problem with my Mercedes SL Class, diesel, built in 2007. The air conditioning no longer cools/heats properly, no longer switches on at all and only blows warm air. I think it could be a defect in the air conditioning system. Have any of you ever had a problem like this and could give me some tips on how you solved it in the workshop? Any experience on this would really help me. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Mercedes SLK class, year 2005. I have a little experience with cars, so to speak. I took it to my garage where they found that a few valves in the air conditioning system were defective (defect of individual valves in the air conditioning system). The good news is that I paid 0 euros for them because they were covered under warranty. Can you give me more information about your vehicle (such as the mileage and whether you've ever had problems with the air conditioning)? That might help to find out what exactly is wrong with your car.

Hey, thanks for your answer! My Mercedes now has 189782 km on it and so far I've never had a similar problem with the air conditioning. The last service was recently and everything was still fine. Hopefully it's just a faulty valve, like yours. Then I would have been lucky.

Well, you've already got a lot of kilometers on it, that could be the trigger. It happened to me at around 150,000 KM - maybe it really is a similar problem. It's good that you've just had a service. Perhaps the refrigerant level in the air conditioning system was also checked? If this is missing or insufficient, this could be the reason for your problem. And if it's still under warranty, just ask the garage. Maybe you'll be lucky and it will be covered by the warranty, like mine. Please keep me informed and I hope that the problem is solved quickly!

Hey, thanks again for your help. Yes, the current mileage could be the cause. The refrigerant level was checked at the last service and everything was still good. Unfortunately, my warranty has expired, but I'll ask the garage anyway. I also hope that it will be resolved quickly. I'll let you know as soon as I have any news. Thanks for your support!
