Problems with the ABS/DSC system on the gasoline-powered 2015 Opel Cascada: Possible transmission fluid wear?

ABS/DSC system is not working

Hi guys, I have a problem with my gasoline powered 2015 Opel Cascada. The ABS/DSC system is no longer working properly. I think the transmission fluid might be worn out. Have any of you experienced anything like this or had similar problems? How did you solve this in your garage and what were your experiences? I am grateful for any tips!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Opel Insignia, which is a bit older, but basically the same manufacturer. Now, I'm not a car expert, but I do have a bit of experience as I like to tinker with my car. I took it to my regular garage and they discovered that my gearbox oil was actually worn out. The complete oil change cost me about 365.0 euros. Everything ran smoothly again. It would be great if you could provide a bit more information about your problem. Is this your first oil change? How many kilometers has your car done? Any details like this would be useful to help me more.

Hi, thanks for your input! Actually, this was my first transmission oil change now with this mileage, which is currently at 182353 km. I was at my last inspection, everything seemed fine. Did you notice any specific symptoms before the change? I'm afraid the problem could be deeper.

I actually had a few symptoms. In the middle of the journey, for example, I had the feeling that the car sometimes didn't react as it should. In addition, the car had difficulties changing gear, especially when cold. It was only when these symptoms became more frequent that I decided I should visit the garage. With your mileage of over 180,000 km, it is quite normal to have to change the gearbox oil. However, it could also be something else. In the case of ABS/DSC problems, the sensors could also be affected. As long as the indicator light is on, I wouldn't take any risks and go to an expert. However, that's just my experience with my Insignia. As your car is a bit younger, the problem may be different. Have a good trip and I hope it's nothing serious!

Hello, I really appreciate your detailed answers! I am now experiencing some of the symptoms you describe with my Cascada. I'm particularly concerned about what you describe when cold and the delayed response. As you said, nothing beats a thorough check by a Megapoint or a specialist garage. I will be taking my car to the garage for a check in the near future. Hopefully it's nothing serious and a simple gearbox oil change will do the trick. Thanks again for the insights and reassurance!
