Problems with the ABS system on Peugeot Partner 2008 - looking for experiences and solutions

Fault stored

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS warning light

ABS/DSC system is not working

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2008 Peugeot Partner (diesel). The ABS is acting up, the warning light is on, the ABS system is not working and the indicator light in the speedometer is also causing stress. Something has been stored in the fault memory. I have a feeling that it could be the wheel speed sensor, but I'm not sure. Has anyone ever had similar problems and could offer advice? How did you get this solved at your garage? I would really appreciate any experiences and tips. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have some experience with cars, I'm not a professional, but I do know a bit. I had a very similar problem with my 2006 Peugeot 206 (diesel). It was quite a nightmare. I had exactly the same symptoms as you, only in my case it was the ABS control unit that was broken. I had it done at a garage and it cost me 1000 euros. I know it's a bit expensive, but it was worth it. To be honest, I had no idea how to fix it myself, so I just went to the garage. But without more detailed information about your car, I'm afraid I can't help you. Could you please give more details about your car? For example, the exact model, the year of manufacture and possibly the mileage. That would really help. Hopefully you'll get it fixed soon!

Hey, thanks for your answer. My Peugeot Partner is a 2008 model and already has 183513 kilometers on the clock. The last service was only recently. Hopefully it's not the ABS control unit, that sounds expensive. I'll keep looking and maybe I'll find a cheaper solution. But thanks for the tip anyway!

Hey, no problem, always welcome! Given the symptoms, I would really recommend checking the wheel speed sensor. I know the ABS control unit is expensive fun, but a faulty wheel speed sensor could also be the cause. On my old Peugeot it was the ECU, but on yours it could be something else. Replacing a wheel speed sensor is actually not that expensive, you could possibly even do it yourself. There are lots of tutorials online to help you if you're feeling a bit handy. And even if you have it done in a workshop, I don't think it will be anywhere near as expensive as the ABS control unit. Depends a bit on the workshop price of course. I hope you find a solution that suits you and your wallet. Good luck!

Hey, that's really good news! I'm not a professional, but I might try the wheel speed sensor myself. YouTube and a few forums should certainly help. If nothing improves, I'll have to take it to the garage for better or worse. I just hope that it won't be too expensive. But thank you very much for your help and tips! I really appreciate it. Best regards!
