Problems with Seat Exeo 2010: Power loss and Check Engine lamp lights up - suspected defective tank ventilation valve
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Seat Exeo is experiencing power loss, uneven engine performance, and a check engine light, with suspicions of a faulty tank ventilation valve. A similar issue in a 2008 Seat Leon was resolved by clearing clogged hoses, suggesting this could be a potential cause. The recommendation is to inspect and possibly clear the hoses, which previously cost 175 euros for a similar fix, with hopes that this will restore smooth operation.

Hey, thanks for the tip! My car already has 183500 km on the clock. The last inspection was carried out a few months ago. Maybe I need to have the hoses checked. 175 euros wouldn't be so bad if the car is running smoothly again afterwards. I'll go to the garage and report back what comes out of it. Thanks again, really cool of you!

Hey, no problem, always welcome! Given the mileage, the hoses might actually be worth a look. If it's been a few months since the inspection, it's possible that something has clogged up there. Thumbs up that it's nothing more and that your car will soon be running smoothly again. I also had a few kilometers on my Leon when the problem occurred. Don't be discouraged, these cars are robust! Keep us posted on what the garage says. Good luck with it!

Hey, thanks for the encouraging words! I really hope it's nothing more serious. I'll follow your advice and have the hoses checked at the next workshop visit. I'll keep you posted on what comes out of it. Thanks again, really cool of you to help in such detail. See you then!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2008 Seat Leon. I'm not a car mechanic, but I do have a bit of experience. In any case, mine did exactly the same thing. I then went to my garage and they discovered that the hoses were clogged. It cost me 175 euros, but after that it ran like a new car again. Can you provide more information about your vehicle, such as the mileage or when it was last serviced? Maybe then I can help in more detail. Hope that helps!
