Hi guys, I have a problem with my Renault Clio (built in 2017, gasoline engine). Recently, it has been showing some strange symptoms such as black smoke when accelerating, engine light coming on, spontaneous engine shutdown, loss of engine power, rough engine running, jerking when accelerating, high fuel consumption, strong exhaust smell and idling stutter. I suspect that the low-pressure fuel system sensor may be broken. Have any of you ever had similar problems? How did you solve it? How did it go in the workshop? I would be very grateful for any tips.

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Renault Mégane (built in 2015). I'm not a car mechanic, but I do have a bit of experience with cars. The stuttering behavior and high consumption are very well known. In my case, the cable connections were defective at the time. They recognized this in the workshop and replaced the defective connection. It cost me around 95 euros. It could be the same for you. But we'd need more information to be able to say more precisely. For example, have you already taken the engine light to the workshop? Have they tried to read out any faults? What maintenance has been carried out so far? Any information could be helpful!

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I haven't actually been to the garage yet, as the engine light only recently started to come on. But your tip about the cable connections could definitely be useful. My car has 78,575 km on the clock so far and the last inspection was about 6 months ago. So it's probably time to visit a garage and get an expert in.
