Problems with power loss and ABS warning light on 2020 G-Class petrol engine - looking for experience and solutions

Loss of traction

ABS/DSC system is not working

ABS warning light

Loss of engine power

Hey guys, my 2020 G class gasoline engine is doing weird things right now. Loss of power, ABS warning light, no traction, ABS not working, and I suspect it has something to do with the supply voltage speed sensor (ABS) but I'm not sure. Has anyone ever had the same or a similar problem and could give me tips on what it could be and how they solved it? I would like to hear your experiences and solutions before I go to the workshop. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2018 GLE gasoline engine. I'm not a car mechanic, but I've already had some experience. My control unit was defective at the time. I had to go to the garage and there was no other solution. The repair cost me 1000 euros. It could also be a defective control unit in your case. Perhaps you could give us some more information about your vehicle and the exact problem? Then we might be able to help you better.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Of course it's annoying that the control unit had to be replaced, but in the end you're happy when everything is running again. About my car: It's a 2020 G-Class petrol engine with 129511km on the clock. The problem came on suddenly, there were no previous signs. The last time I was at the Mercedes workshop was about a month ago. Everything went well so far, until now that is. It would of course be great if it could all be solved without extensive repairs. But let's see what your guesses are.

Hey, no problem. Well, your car already has quite a lot of kilometers for a 2020 model. One or two parts could give up the ghost. It could also be that something was overlooked during the last workshop visit. Since your ABS isn't working, it could also be the wheel sensor. A defective wheel sensor could explain the other symptoms such as the ABS warning light and loss of traction. If it really is the wheel sensor, the repair would be much cheaper than a control unit. But of course this is just pure speculation on my part - it's best to have it checked at the garage. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing serious and that the problem can be fixed quickly and cheaply!

Thank you for the idea that it could be the wheel sensor. It would of course be great if it was something that simple. I will take your advice and get the car to the garage as soon as possible so they can check it out. I also hope it's nothing too serious and that the problem can be fixed quickly and cheaply. I will keep you posted. Thanks again!
