Check engine light on

Hey guys, I have a problem with my Peugeot 807, year 2005, with gasoline engine. When accelerating there is black smoke, the engine light is on, engine loss, jerking when accelerating, loud hissing and whistling, poor fuel consumption and strong exhaust odor. I think there could be a deviation in the boost pressure control. Has anyone had similar problems and can give any tips on how they fixed it? Especially how it was solved in the workshop? Would be great to hear your experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hi, look out, had a similar problem with my 2007 Peugeot 809. I'm not a car mechanic or anything, but I do have a bit of experience with finding faults and stuff. I then went to my regular garage who specialize in this and they found out that the boost pressure actuator was electrically defective. The repair cost 1520 euros and it ran like clockwork again. Can you tell me more about the car? Sometimes it pays to know the exact model name or something. Hope that helps you!

Thanks for your quick reply and the help. I have the 807 model from 2005, which is a bit older than yours. My Peugeot already has 184005 km on it, and the last service was six months ago. I will definitely have a professional look at it. Your experience sounds pretty similar, I'll discuss it with the garage. 1520 euros is not a lot, but as long as it runs smoothly again afterwards, it's worth it. Thanks again for the tip!

Hey, no problem! I'm glad I could help. Your Peugeot already has a few kilometers on the clock! And sure, 1520 euros is a lot of money, but if you enjoy driving the car and it's otherwise in good condition, then it might be worth it. In any case, have it checked at the garage. I hope that your problem is just as easy to solve as mine and that there's nothing more to it. Keep your fingers crossed that it's just the boost pressure regulator. Let us know how it goes. Good luck and happy driving with your 807!

Hi, thanks for the thumbs up! I really enjoy driving the car and otherwise it runs really well. I also think it might be worth investing the money to keep driving it. I will definitely follow your advice and have it checked at the garage. I also hope that it's just the boost pressure regulator and nothing worse. I'll report back here what I find out. Thanks again for your help and words of encouragement! Have a good trip with your 809!
