Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2008 Peugeot 408 diesel. I'm just a hobbyist, so I have a bit of experience, but certainly not a professional. The problem I had was with the pump/control unit, it was a faulty cable. I took it to my independent garage and they repaired it for 95 euros. To help you more precisely, it would be good to know whether there are certain circumstances when the light comes on or the engine overheats. Hi, thanks for the tip about the faulty cable, I'll definitely check that! To come back to your question, the light usually comes on when I'm on the highway and driving faster. At normal city speeds, it hasn't come on yet. The outside temperature has also had no influence so far, whether in summer or winter, the problem remains the same. Incidentally, the last mileage was 47289 KM and the last service was recently, so that can't really be the problem. Moin, yes, it sounds like something bigger if the problem mainly occurs at higher speeds. In my Peugeot 408, the problem occurred regardless of the outside temperature. By keeping a close eye on things, you can give the workshop some important information, which will make troubleshooting much easier. Although the mileage and service are interesting, they play a lesser role in the problem with the coolant pump. In any case, if I were you, I would really go to the workshop. A defective cooling system is no fun and can quickly lead to major damage. And if it's just a cable, then it can be fixed quickly and cheaply.
