Problems with overheating and air conditioning in the Peugeot Bipper 2011: experiences and suggested solutions

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hey guys, I've noticed a strange problem with my 2011 Peugeot Bipper with a gasoline engine. The air conditioning only blows warm air and the car overheats. My guess is the electric fan. Have any of you had similar problems and can you give me tips on how to narrow down the fault? I am particularly interested in how you were able to solve the problem in the workshop and what experiences you have had. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2009 Peugeot Partner. I have some experience with cars and such, so I know my way around a bit. So when I went to the garage, they discovered that my electric fan was faulty, or more precisely the "control unit/resistor". I then paid quite a lot for the repair, around 480 euros. But now everything is running smoothly again. Can you give me a bit more information about your car? Then I might be able to help you even better.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yes, that sounds like exactly the problem I'm having. Phew, 480 euros is quite a lot of money. My Peugeot Bipper already has 23811 km on the clock and the last service was last year. Could it be because of the age that the electronics are now failing?

Hey, no problem. Hmm, it could be down to age, of course, but I don't think so. With your mileage, your Peugeot is still more of a "youngster". Things like this often just break and it has nothing to do with age. In my car, it was the control unit for the electric fan. It could also be that only the resistor needs to be replaced, so you don't have to replace the whole control unit. You should definitely seek advice from a specialist garage. Depending on the situation, this can make quite a difference in cost. So I wouldn't wait too long to avoid damaging your engine. I hope I've been able to help you and keep my fingers crossed that it won't be too expensive.

Thank you very much for your advice! I almost figured that my "youngster" wasn't suffering from old age. It feels a bit more reassuring to know that it doesn't necessarily have to be the whole control unit. I will definitely follow your advice and make an appointment with the workshop tomorrow. Of course, I don't want to risk damaging the engine. Thanks again for your support!
